TERMS OF REFERENCE
For the purposes of this Health and Safety Policy all persons are treated equally.
There is no distinction made (other than where legally necessary) between people who by title could be described as managers, employees or visitors. It applies equally to everyone.
It is the responsibility of everyone in any workplace covered by this Policy to follow the intent and spirit of this Health and Safety Policy.
The contents of this Policy are intended to give simple guidance for reasonably practicable and predictable workplace activities. The information within this Policy is not exhaustive.
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY GENERAL STATEMENT
It is the policy of 1st Choice Roller Shutters Ltd (referred to as the Company) to comply with the terms of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Management of Health & Safety at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2006, and associated protective legislation, both as an Employer and as a Company.
Whilst 1st Choice Roller Shutters Ltd will do everything within its powers to ensure the health and safety of its employees, the employees agree, as part of their contract of employment, to comply with their individual duties under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and will cooperate with their Employer to enable him to carry out his health and safety duties under the Act. It is the duty of each employee to take reasonable care of their own and other peoples welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the well being of any other person.
1st Choice Roller Shutters Ltd is committed to achieving high standards of health and safety not only in respect of its own employees but also in relation to visitors to the company, including contractors and temporary workers, as well as any members of the public who might be affected by our operations.
1st Choice Roller Shutters Ltd will comply with its duties towards employees under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2006, so far as is reasonably practicable, in order to:
1.Provide and maintain plant and systems of work that are safe and without risks to health, a safe place of work, a safe system of work.
2.Ensure the safety and absence of risks to health in connection with the use, handling, storage and transport or articles and substances.
3.Provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as may be necessary to ensure the health and safety at work of its employees.
4.Take appropriate preventive/protective measures.
5.Ensure that its safety procedures and policies are reviewed regularly and kept up to current standards.
